Red Rose will open in six months

Red Rose the first feature film on the life of Robert Burns for more than 50 years, is set for a worldwide cinema release in January 2005.

The movie was made by Palm Tree UK, based in Mauchline, and was written and produced by Mairi Sutherland and directed by Robbie Moffat,
Red Rose, which stars Hollywood-based Scottish actor Michael E Rodgers, Lucy Russell and Rebecca Palmer, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
The UK premiere was then screened at the Ayr Racecourse later that month.
Negotiations immediately opened between Palm Tree and distributors on both sides of the Atlantic and this week a delighted Mairi Sutherland announced a deal with London based Circle Films.
And Robbie has virtually concluded a similar deal with a North Amercian distributor.
