PRESS RELEASE
‘BEAM ME UP’ A Robbie Moffat Sci –Fi Movie hits Cannes Film Market
Screening on 24th May at 6pm
A four person crew sent to bring back a mothballed ship parked at the back of Pluto, find themselves on their way to the edge of the Universe. Starring Suzanne Harbison, Tony Streeter, Rachel Rath, and Paul Cassidy.
Beam Me Up is another movie from the prolific pen of writer/director Robbie Moffat. The film was shot in March at the Denham Media Park and Pinewood Studios where the set of the spaceship was created. The documentary crew from ITV ‘Behind the scenes at Pinewood’ shadowed the shooting on set and the entire movie making process of ‘Beam Me Up’ for their 6 part series which goes out from August.
The film was a departure for the company Palm Tree UK, who are known for making mainly Scottish based films. In a move to their new office in Pinewood, making a film with more international appeal seemed to be the way forward. The producer partnership, Robbie Moffat and Mairi Sutherland have had their busiest year with three films being completed in 2005/6. They have also had 6 of their back catalogue films released on DVD into the shops, Woolworth and the Post Office chains in the UK under the distributor Bluecrest.
