ITV Documentary ‘London’s Hollywood’ features Palm Tree UK behind the scenes at Pinewood and Denham Media Park filming the sci fi movie ‘Beam Me Up.’ The documentary headed by Paul Denchfield charts the people behind the scenes, film making at Britain largest film village in Pinewood and Shepperton Studios. In the case of Palm Tree, Paul tracked the entire making of Beam Me Up from the shooting right through to the post production and the promotion of the film at the Cannes Film Festival in May this year. The documentary transmits at 5.30pm from the 23rd July on Sunday for a six week stint with breaks in between. Episodes 1,2,3, go out consecutively, and then there is a break with Episode 4 going out on 20th August, Episodes 5 goes out on the 3rd Sep then Episode six goes out on the 17th September. But this could change at the last minute so watch for ITV trailers!

The DVDs of six of Palm Tree UK films are available in Woolworth right now. Many people may have been looking for them in May but they actually went out in the shops in June so if you missed them please do take the opportunity now to go out and buy the new covers. The films available are Love the One You’re With, The Hawk and The Dove, Winter Warrior, Finding Fortune, The Bone Hunter, and Red Rose.

There have been sighting of the DVDs as far away as Edinburgh and Walthamstow. So they are out there!

The WEBSITE has been revamped so that all the trailers of the films are accessible at the front end of the homepage by clicking on trailer above the films flyer. At the same time a continuous loop of all the trailers of all the films is running on the homepage so we hope it is much easier for people to check out the films. The website is going from strength to strength getting a million hits a year!

Beam Me Up, the Robbie Moffat sci-fi movie is in post-post production with a deadline to be finished by the end of September. A trailer will be coming soon to the website.

Women in Rodeo a documentary about the motivation of the cowgirls who brave the rodeo circuit to run in open barrel racing in Texas at the San Antonio Rodeo and across the states has begun post production. Shot in February 2006 on HDcam and Super16mm, the film was directed by Mairi Sutherland.

Cannes Film Market. It is too early to know what will develop from Cannes. This year we took some high level meetings and all of our screenings for our new films Cycle, Axe Raiders and Beam Me Up were well attended. We made some great contacts and alliances that will surely bear fruit. The ITV Cannes diary made a stir and helped to promote the actors in our films, so it was all good stuff.

Development Slate. Clearing the way for new material Palm Tree UK is working on it’s highly developed pictures ‘Jane’ about the lover of the composer Chopin, and ‘Duchess’ the famous 1950’s socialite Margaret Sweeny. Both these scripts were written by Robbie Moffat and have been in development with Palm Tree for around five years. They have now moved to the top of the list and we are seriously raising finance for these two projects.

New Projects. The romantic comedy Californian Letter is being penned by Mairi Sutherland along with her other script Knights of the Cross, an action adventure story. ‘The End’ a horror story written and directed by Jamie Biazotti has been adopted by Palm Tree and is seeking finance.
