Shooting took place in April and May 2005. The story is set on the West Highland Way and was filmed primarily on the stretch between the Bridge of Orchy and the Pass of Glencoe.
The scenery is some of the most spectacular in Scotland and is almost uninhabited.
The weather proved to be just as spectacular - and included an eight day heat wave and some snow.
